Politicization of pandemic response will not help with recovery

As the 2022 national elections draw closer, we can expect that some politicians will exploit immunization programs and distribution of social amelioration funds to advance their personal political objectives.

CitizenWatch Philippines condemns such self-serving and shameless acts that insult the integrity of efforts that are supposed to be genuinely altruistic. We must reject and expose these brazen acts that will only waste precious time, energy and resources at the expense of Filipino taxpayers’ money.

We call on for heightened collaboration between the Public and Private sectors, to remain focused on effectively implementing pandemic response programs and for all sectors to learn how to safely reboot the economy amidst the anticipated delays in vaccine rollout.
