Well done Project Ugnayan!
April 15, 2020As citizens, we have the responsibility to know and respond to the current crisis that has befallen our country. We must actively participate and contribute solutions according to our abilities and resources.
The dire circumstances that has befallen millions of citizens now bearing the brunt of economic displacement as a consequence of the necessary measures of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, needs our united effort to lessen the suffering of the households whose source of daily livelihood has been affected.
CitizenWatch Philippines expresses strong support and congratulations for the successful mission of Project Ugnayan. The synergy demonstrated between the private sector, the Church and government in delivering much needed and timely aid to over 1.5 million families of greater Metro-Manila has proven to be a most efficient model that other assistance programs can implement. The project’s objective to deliver food directly to each home in poor communities encourages people to stay off the streets and somehow calms anxiety and lifts the spirit.
We commend Ugnayan’s Project Lead, Fernando Zobel de Ayala and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation’s Co-Chairmen Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Manuel V. Pangilinan for organizing this unprecedented collaboration of the country’s business groups.
The project reached over 7.6 million people in the vulnerable communities of Greater Metro Manila thru the distribution channels of Caritas Manila’s Project Damayan, ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pagibig, ADB and the Government’s Bayan, Bayanihan and Jollibee’s FoodAID program.
